Applying For Membership of STANZ
Safer Technology Aotearoa New Zealand is an incorporated society that is organised and democratically run by its members. STANZ is also a not-for-profit organisation which relies primarily on membership fees and donations from members and the public to pay for its activities.
STANZ Members agree to promote the purposes and objectives of STANZ and not
do anything to bring STANZ into disrepute.
The STANZ incorporated society has a Coordinating Committee that is elected by its members at its Annual General Meeting. The Coordinating Committee meets regularly to organise the legal affairs and activities of the STANZ society.
How to Become a Member
To become a member of STANZ you will need to apply by filling out the STANZ membership application form. The Coordinating Committee will then assess whether the applicant can become a member. Normally this is just a formality.

Once the committee has approved your membership application you will then need to pay a membership fee ($10 for Unwaged and $20 for Waged) into the STANZ Kiwibank account.
As a member you will be entitled to attend STANZ incorporated society meetings and have your say on how the society is run as well as have the right to vote at the AGM and stand for election to the Coordinating Committee if you so desire. However, you do not need to be elected to a committee to volunteer to help. Just let us know your areas of interest in volunteering and how much time you have available, and someone will get in touch to discuss options.
