Myths & Facts about EHS

November 29, 2023

MYTH

ELECTROMAGNETIC HYPERSENSITIVITY (EHS) IS A PSYCHOLOGICAL CONDITION CAUSED BY ‘FEAR’.

FACT

EHS HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE A PHYSICAL RESPONSE UNDER BLINDED CONDITIONS

EHS has been proven to be a physical response under blinded conditions, biomarkers are being identified and mechanisms that may explain the reaction are evolving. Additionally, guidelines for EHS diagnosis and management have been peer-reviewed and published which make clear that the mainstay of medical management is avoidance of anthropogenic electromagnetic fields. Some people can develop symptoms caused by fear of exposures, but this is a different condition which may be called ‘electrophobia’.
